30 Paintings In 30 Days

For the month of September, I decided to do a painting or a drawing every day for the entire month. At the end of the month I'd hoped to have 30 reasonably completed pieces of art and hopefully a good habit established. Beyond that, I wasn't sure what I would do with those paintings! Well, the month is up, and I'm happy to report that the good habit WAS established, and I ended up going in a direction with this that I could never have imagined!!

I started out rather feably, with a few beach drawings and even a photograph thrown in there (I was on vacation...!), and then ended up looking for painting inspiration from what was around me. I'd been reading a (very interesting) book on Topsy the Elephant, Thomas Edison, and P.T. Barnum, so began working on a circus theme. This led to a circus train, and I thought to myself, "What would be funny animals to have on a circus train?" The answer? Balloon animals. This led me in a very happy direction to create several balloon animal friends who have been featured a lot over the course of last month and into this month.

Now that my #30Paintingsin30Days project is over, I've continued on to do #APaintingADay, to keep honing the skills I've been given. I've also been overwhelmed with the kindness my friends and family have shown me! I've been so encouraged and have felt so glad that my paintings can make others happy.

Here are just a few of my paintings from this experiment. I'll be posting more over on my art blog soon, and attach a link here. And if you don't already, be sure to follow me over on Instagram (https://instagram.com/michiganartiste/) for daily photos of what I'm working on!
