Canvas & Cookies
1:00 - 3:00 pm
Complete a painting step by step via Zoom or in person. You will learn a bit about the process while painting, with tips on composition, color use, and the elements and principles of art as you go through each step. Supplies provided. If you choose the virtual option, you’ll pick up a kit at SASC the week of class– included are one of Linda’s famous chocolate chip cookies. Contact Megan to select a pick up day and time.

Eric Carle-Style Art

Create your very own piece inspired by the art of Eric Carle. Katherine will show you the techniques using paint, tissue paper, and layering. Materials provided. In-person

Watercolors
11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Katherine makes watercolor painting so easy! You will receive a stencil in an email or in class, which you can trace on your watercolor paper, then learn mixing techniques and color theory along the way. Take Watercolors online or in person, your choice. The class may move completely virtual if we cannot meet in person due to Covid. Inexpensive kits can be purchased at Michaels or Amazon. Hybrid.

Here are some classes that I offer:
Paint & Pour-Style Classes
A painting class for your home or office party! In ~2 hours we will do an 8x10" acrylic painting of your choosing (contact me for a catalog of pieces from which you can choose your favorite!). All painting supplies (brushes, canvases, paints, etc) are provided. $30/person for 3-6 people; $25/person for 7-12 people.
For kids' parties, cost is $25/person for 4-8 people; $20/person for 9-14 people.
Polymer Clay Charms
Come play with polymer clay and make some fun charms, perfect for necklaces, bracelets, or earrings! Learn how to use polymer clay tools, as well as how to create your own tools from things around the house. A number of finished charms will be completed in this class.
Felt Creations
Have fun with felt in this class for all ages! Learn how to make felt finger puppets, felt board characters, and other fun felt creations. Great as gifts or fun for your family!
Drawing Bootcamp
Kickstart your drawing skills with this 4-session class that will start from the basics and build from there! Learn how to draw just about anything with a few simple tricks that will train your brain to see the world around you in a whole different way. Also serves as a great refresher course and help for painters and drawers alike. No previous drawing experience required.
Charming Silhouettes
Make a number of different, fun silhouettes in this class! From charming old-fashioned images, to fun and funky characters, bikes, maps and more, explore the world of silhouettes in new and different ways.
Watercolor Painting
Learn all of the basics of watercolor - from how much water to use, how to layer up colors, how to add texture and depth, and how to create vibrant works of art.
Abstract Acrylic Painting
In this step-by-step class, I will take students through the process of creating an abstract painting. Students will learn how to prepare a canvas and how to use different mediums to create abstraction.
Acrylic Landscape Painting
Spend some time learning different ways to create a landscape using acrylic paint. Students will learn how to set up a good composition, as well as about color use, balance, and basic color theory. Underpainting, layering, building texture, and different painting techniques will also be discussed.
Acrylic Still Life Painting
Spend some time learning different ways to create a balanced still life painting using acrylic paint. Students will learn how to set up a good composition, as well as about color use and basic color theory. Underpainting, layering, building texture, and different painting techniques will also be discussed.
I offer private lessons in oils, acrylics, watercolors, drawing, and more! Private lessons are $30/hour for children, youth, and adults.
